ABOUT FORWARD PRESS

Forward Press Books is an online bookstore and small press with a focus on books that creatively document, examine, and generally ask very good questions about the many mutual impositions of art, culture, minds, and moods.

 

For us, this covers lots of ground: a Velvet Underground photobook of toner-streaked tour photos from smalltown basement venues; a notebook of intricate self-observations from the forgotten 19th-century art critic Violet Paget; an obsessively-documented photographic thesis on French rave culture in the 1990s.

We sell and publish the books we'd like to read (or wish we'd written.) Consequently, we've always got reprints or new projects in development, so check in often or join our mailing list to see what we've got in store (and, you know, in the store.)
